With Blendable

With Blendable installed too, its fixed cameras, presets and hooks play Blendable FX effects wherever a shot changes. Neither plugin needs the other.

Blendable FX works on its own. With Blendable in the project as well, Blendable's settings for transitions and effects appear, and each takes any Blendable FX effect. Without Blendable FX they stay hidden and Blendable cuts and blends as it always has.

Fixed cameras#

Each fixed camera has a Transition In and a Transition Out, and a preset has a Transition Between Shots for every change where neither camera names one. The camera letting go of the shot has the say first, then the one taking it, then the preset.

Walking into the impact hall: its fixed camera takes the shot with an impact frame, its Transition In.

The change waits for the transition to cover the old shot, then cuts underneath; a blend keeps the old shot and blends into the new. Walk back out before it has covered and it uncovers the same shot, with nothing cut. A camera move between two cameras carries the change instead, and a state such as aiming never waits for one. Is A Transition Covering The Change says when one is.

Hooks#

Two of Blendable's example hooks play effects, in any hook list: a fixed camera's On Enter and On Exit, a lock-on preset's, a rig's.

  • Show An Overlay.

Shows an effect over the picture, at its own amount or one you set, for a moment or until it's put back: old film for a flashback room, a tape's wobble on a security camera.

  • Play An Impact.

Plays an effect once, as an impact: an impact frame as a fixed camera takes a fight, a flash as a lock lands. Give it an actor in On and an effect centred Where It's Played strikes there rather than on the player.

In the demo#

The Fixed Angles level's Camera Showcase has the vault glitching out as you leave it, the impact hall striking an impact frame as its camera takes over, and a cycle room that plays every starter in turn as you step on its pads.
