Performance
What an effect costs: a full-screen pass while it's on screen and nothing when it isn't, a little more for a blend, a few looks that keep frames, and the layers.
An effect costs nothing until it plays. While it's on screen it's one full-screen pass, drawn after tonemapping, with the code of its own look and no other. When it's gone, so is the pass.
A blend
keeps the frame from before the cut for as long as it runs: one texture the size of the screen.
Afterimage Trails
keeps its last few frames, and Datamosh the last finished one, while they play.
Keep The Last Frame
, for blends on every camera cut, copies every frame whether a cut comes or not. Leave it off unless a blend plays on cuts nothing else transitions.
Aberration
draws the look three times over, once for each colour, and Motion Blur four times, so a heavy look with both costs more than either alone.
Defocus
uses the engine's own depth of field, and Your Own Material is a post process material: their cost is theirs.
Several effects at once are a pass each. An overlay held for minutes costs the same every frame as it did in its first.
